The 18th Annual Permian Basin Oilman’s Bass Invitational will be held May 18-19, 2012 at Lake Amistad near Del Rio, Texas.  Since the decision to move the tournament affects so many people as well as the community in which it is held, the PBOBI Board took extreme care when making the final determination.

Due to the low lake level at O.H. Ivie, holding a tournament of this magnitude would be detrimental to the fishery and could threaten the safety of the contestants.  It is for these reasons that the decision to relocate the 2012 Invitational to Lake Amistad was made.

Tournament registration, dinners, awards and recognition for 2012 will be held at the Del Rio Civic Center while the fishing and weigh-in will be at Lake Amistad.

Contestants and sponsors will be notified digitally and given access to the contestant and sponsor packets in the coming months.  Past contestants and sponsors will still be granted first right of refusal.

Everyone involved in PBOBI truly wants to thank the town of Ballinger and everyone at O.H. Ivie for the last 17 years of support and for going out of their way to accommodate the fishermen, the volunteers and attendees.   It has been a great partnership for a wonderful event that has raised over $2,000,000 for Make-A-Wish.
